Helping people read more, and get more out of reading, as they age.

“ No one is tailoring reading material for aging adults to help them keep reading longer. It’s absolutely a great thing and a moral imperative. ”

– Elizabeth Stine-Morro, University of Illinois
A leading psychology researcher, Professor Stine-Morrow’s work is focused on the conditions and strategies that augment cognitive health and make us effective learners into later adulthood.

Our Vision

To bring engaging reading material to assisted living communities.

Our products focus on single topics (like a book) and are presented in words and pictures (like a magazine). That’s why we call them bookazines.

Communities will subscribe for a year and receive a selection of bookazines that will be refreshed regularly. All of the titles are tailored specifically for aging readers.

Reading is active and stimulating. It’s health food for our brains that combats:

  • Isolation

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Depression

Studies have also shown that reading delays memory loss and dementia, and might even stave off the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.

Reading is
Active and Stimulating

Reading is a positive activity. But as we age, reading becomes more challenging.

  • We have a hard time seeing small type.

  • We can’t easily track complex sentence structures.

  • We struggle to follow narrative jumps.

  • We are tripped up remembering characters and why they matter to the story.
